Many islands, cities, and villages are at the real risk of disappearing due to climate change. Perhaps, existing conventions whether the law of the sea or that on climate change is not enough. Perhaps, it is only a matter of interpretation and application of such conventions. We may agree, in both cases, that new approaches and interpretations of law will be needed in the near future.  Or we may say, they are inescapable right now.”
